Michael GodeyThe last 5 years have increased Michael's art interest in the spirit within animals, of which 4 years he has lived in New Mexico. He lived in La Cross, Florida for 12 years, a period which significantly influenced his painting, writing and love for the rural South. Earlier, he lived in Gainesville, Micanopy, Tampa, and Bradenton, Florida. During this period, he also traveled to the west coast of the United States, living and painting in Riverside, California. After returning to live in Florida, he received a grant and Artist Honorarium, Arts in Medicine Program, working in residence at Shands Teaching Hospital from 1995 – 2003. Member of “Reflections”, Playback Theater Troupe , improvisational theater to patients and staff including a performance at the Black Box theater, Harm Museum, 2000-2004, Exhibition Coordinator for Arts and Medicine Show, Lake City Community College Art Gallery, Lake City FL 1999, Artist for Juvenile Diabetic Unit, 1998. He also was the art exhibition coordinator - Gainesville Welcome Center, Gainesville FL, 2003. In 2004, he moved his studio and home to Tajique, New Mexico.
