REGINA GUERRERO

Regina Guerrero was born in Mexico City and raised in San Diego.  Her architect father taught her to paint at a very young age resulting in her first exhibition at the age of sixteen.  After Studying at UCLA, Ms. Guerrero spent six years working in Mexico City in collaboration with four galleries.  She now resides in Albuquerque and continues to push the boundaries of her artistic expression.

 

About the Work

 

Being of Mexican-American descent, Regina Guerrero is inspired by the urban environments of both Mexico and the United States.  Her current work reflects upon the collective subconscious and beauty as a masticulated enitity represented by the female mannequin sculpture.  Her work has been described as “bold and daring while revealing a nakedness that is without shame or pride.”
